L. Shielding: plastic covering with no baffles or louvers 

A. Purpose of the space: a stairwell as a means of egress from the building

B. Purpose of lighting: allows the users to navigate vertically throughout the space

C. Luminaire effect: a light which during the day provides some extra lighting but not really necessary but at night allows the occupants to travel up and down the stairs

D. Improvements: the up lighting that happens in the space almost seems unnecessary to me and some of the lights placements don't seem well suited
