(BEGIN MORGAN FREEMAN NARRATION)
Through the Wormhole is the title of my recently completed IAR 201 project, essentially this project began with folding pieces of paper. The objective... to fold paper in order to provide or create a space using a set of rules/guidelines. Well for my structure I wanted to use something that was already established and use that as basically a template by which to fold by. And I said to myself, "why not use outer space again?" So that's exactly what I did! I took the most common/popular constellation known as the Big Dipper and from the seven stars within it I extended its lines as you can see in my diagrams on my board. I then created thickness to the lines and got rid of the voids within the paper to create a solid structural metal form. The end goal of the project was to develop a board with diagrams/digital renderings/elevations/sections/plans and a highly articulated model.
